I like the Friendly Fisherman in John's Pass... Parking is always a challange there due to all the shops.. But the food there is really good.

Also I have always been a fan of Crabby Bills. There are a few of them in St. Pete.

I have a standard def Sony HandiCam.... which is an OK camera for dry land. But wouldnt work in the "damp" enviroment of a boat.

I agree with Liz, if you don't want/know how to rig it yourself. They only charge you for the items, no labor fees.

One thing I would suggest is to get a decent sized anchor, as big as you can comfortably fit. On calm days its overkill, but on those windy Tampa days having that bigger anchor is a real plus!

I agree with Drewp2. One of the best bait for Red fish is cut lady fish. It really puts the stink in the water. I usually use the head and cut it down the middle.

I have heard this a few times before, but everytime I try it I just end up landing Whisker Reds... and thats never a fun time....

Any tips/tricks to using cut Lady Fish?

Starting to look like there were fish... everywhere exepct where we were on Sunday.... I'm going to blame RAB (I think he is a fishing dark cloud sometimes)

Glad you were about to hook into that... also pretty masterful how you turn a birthday boat ride into a fishing adventure... my wife would have had quite a bit to say on that subject.

Thanks Man.

I will definently check it out

I have a feeling that it is going to come down to having a few different cameras.

1 for the behind the back / whole body shots
1 for the "Hero" or face shots/ close up shots
and possible 1 for under water shots

Well let me be the first to welcome you to the Forum and the Tampa Bay Area!

Sounds like you have all your ducks in a row! I would be more that happy to show you a few tips of rigging that there kayak of yours, and I am sure there are a few others here that feel the same way.

I'd be very interested in seeing how you make a bamboo spinning rod as well.

Clearwater Walmart carries them now,  just picked up a bag of White PaddlerZ

I will say that I really like the stretchy plastic.... but it makes it very hard to use a soft bait anchored hook like this one. Have a hell of a time with the sprial going in to the plastic.
