Night fishing around Tampa bridges?
« on: June 24, 2017, 01:32:55 PM »
In town for work and wanted to do some night fishing around a bridge in Tampa.  I wanted to get some local advice on places to go, and what's running.  Thanks in advance

The pier at the Skyway is a very popular spot.  Grouper, Spanish mack, I think are the usual suspects this time of year, maybe a bit of pompano too.

I like John's pass, Fish the north side on an incoming tide with a very light split shot and some live greenies.  Cast it upstream, let the tide take it down, pull it in and cast again.  Flounder and snook.

I might suggest the pass-a-grille pier at the south end of St. Petersburg beach.  I was out there a week or two ago and people were catching snapper and pompano.  Not sure about how good the night fishing is though as it is not lit to my knowledge.
