Wade fishing Tampa Bay | I call it wade grillin.

I do a lot of wade fishing, especially in the summer. Since I don't get out as much as I'd like I gotta make the most of times I have so that means I plan for the day. I found this raft at walmart for $20 two years ago. I've patched it a few times but it still floats like the day I bought it. The cooler is an obvious need and for a dry box I just used a plastic storage bin (the thing with the blue lid). I have a smaller dry box that is a legitimate dry box that I store keys, phone, etc. in and I put it in this blue storage bin...along with other crap I need like mosquito repellant, sun block (must have 4 me). Anyway, behind that is a milk crate that I can put my cast net, grill, etc. into any time I'm needing to be on the move or if waves get unexpectedly rough.
I little PVC tie wrapped onto the side and voiila! Tie your rig to your belt loop, let it float along for the ride, and forget it about it until you need another beer. ahaha

Pure genius. Nothing like tossing your catch instantly on the grill, it can't get no fresher than that.

What a absolute cool concept, what are ya trying to do Jeff, posting pics of Ribs on the grill.......LOL......now I have to change my lunch plans...... however I would wonder how the FWC regs would apply to grilling your catch, if it never technically made it to shore, anyone know when you are actually allowed to filet your fish can ya filet and grill it while standing in water!!!!

It would be cool to go out and
rely
on catching something for lunch. I went fishing with some buddies and we talked about doing it but that was after some beers and because we knew we already had fish packed in the cooler. It's easy to talk big then.
Anyway, while drinking said beers the idea came up of a reality-show-like fishing expedition wherein which some friends go out fishing. Said friends of course are perpetually broke and pool their funds for things like gas, drinks, food, ice & when they're feeling either real lazy or real rich, live bait. After a night of partying two of the friends meet the 3rd at their wading spot (late & hungover) to discover the 3rd friend has provided for all the preparations save food...which the other 2 numbskulls were to bring.
With only a cooler full of beer they would venture on to the flats. Certain aspects of the expedition would have to be hammered out, but the name of our little reality show would be called "no catchy, no eaty".

Dude, I'm always down for that type of stuff. I wish I could find other people that were into it. I have a few ideas myself that I'm sure can be improved upon but it seems finding the people to do it is proving impossible. I have a HD Canon camcorder myself so if I could find a couple other guys/gals to act and a couple to shoot the footage then I can edit it up into a good story using Premiere Pro. All just for fun of course and to post on youtube.
Another idea I have involves a guy named Harold "Nuts" Mahoney. See, back in the day old Harry used to be one of those survivor types who really survived. He wasn't like these pussies who have film crews and cell phones. No suh ree, old Harry Nuts Mahoney is a true survivor born and raised right here in the Tampa Bay area. I'd like to shoot an episode of Harry where it shows him having to survive in the wilds of Tampa Bay. The episode would begin with Harry waking up on an island wearing only his looms and his stomach already growling.

Right on. Those are good ideas. Maybe I can get you to take me to that spot at Anna Maria. I bet catching those snook would make some great footage.
