Smashed weedon island today!

Ok just kidding caught one trout the size of mt attention span...Has anybody been fishing weedon lately?I was out from 10 am till about 5 incoming tide all day..maybe the water was moving a little slow but I used jigs,top water,live shrimp...I had no outcome coolest thing I saw was about a 5 foot bullshark that almost made me number 2 myself..any advise ?

Weedon is as over fished as the Mexican Riviera known as Gandy Blvd. That whole area has got a fishing line every 20 ft. Maybe stick with Davis Island or some where else.

As for me my fishing grounds are pretty wide spread so if one spot is being over fished there are others I can try. It's like your business; be sure to diversify.

Weedon has gotten real slow over the past couple of years, I've actually found the south side about 100-200 yds off the shore line to be the best for me @ any tide, for trout and reds, when I had my small boat was able to drop the trolling motor and get into the no motor zone I never really had much luck, few reds here and there but not worth the effort!

Only time I've fished at Weedon and it was productive was when I went with a buddy of mine last year. Here's a video of some of the reds we caught.

Nice. yeah it has slowed down over the past years Ive only ventured tampa bay mainly .I wanna get out in the sarasota area but I have no clue where to start..anybody have any ideas for kayak fishing there?

Funny you should ask that. I grew up down there. I only recently moved to the Tampa area about 3 years ago. The best spot for fishing is palma sola bay. You can kayak there as well.

I got pictures of you catching plenty of catfish. Now if you don't agree that map I posted is the best fishing map ever made and say so pronto I will start posting pictures.  :o

oh its that map  yeah that map is definately the best map ever made cuzz it worked perfetly the day u took me to one of your sopts and got all those pictures u are goin to post ;D

 nobody likes saltwater catfish cody but they arent that bad to eat to be honest. u just need a tool chest to clean  them lmbo
